Hot day in Bali

3pm here, and it’s a HOT day here in Bali. We got up around 9:30am this morning, and went down to the breakfast area for a HUGE breakfast of rice, noodles, sausages, potatoes, bread and of course the best fresh fruit on the planet. It’s all-you-can-eat and is included in the hotel price, so it’s difficult to stop eating…

We then went for a walk around the back-streets of Kuta, stopping every 30-mins or so for a “beer refresher” – necessary in the heat (medicinal purposes only of course). I’m sure it’s not that hot to the locals – but to someone from Vancouver, it feels pretty damn hot to me, and combined with the Humidity it’s hard to go more than an hour without a drink.

Right now we are sitting in Internet Outpost – a web cafe that is full of travellers – it’s a great little place, with A/C, good music and friendly staff. Nick from BaliBlog is sitting right behind me, and I’m about to go over and say hello.

We are planning on a hard afternoon of sitting in the pool, and then out for some Indonesian food tonight and then try to find a busy pub to sit in and soak up the atmosphere.

We are off to Ubud tomorrow which is in the mountains, and is a lot more tranquil than hectic Kuta.

I won’t be able to post any pics until we get to Australia as the connection speeds here are too slow – but i’m taking lots of pics.

Well, back to my beer…. :-)
